Provisional itinerary below.
Our tour begins in Portsmouth, where our ferry departs at 07.45 hrs for the crossing to Caen. The Guillaume de Normandie offers a comfortable start to the trip, with a choice of restaurants and bars on board, along with an open top deck and plenty of seating. Cabins can also be arranged if required.
We are due to arrive into Caen at approximately 14.45 hrs local time, where our private transfer will be waiting to take us through Normandy to Deauville.
On arrival, we check in for four nights at the 4 star Novotel Deauville Plage, overlooking Deauville Beach and just a short walk from the town centre.
This evening, join us for a welcome dinner at one of Deauville’s lovely local restaurants. Dinner is on us and it is a great opportunity to meet the rest of the group and enjoy our first evening in Normandy.
After breakfast, we start the day with a visit to one of Deauville’s fantastic thoroughbred studs. In 2026, our group visited Haras de Beaumont, home to Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe winner Ace Impact. Our 2027 visit will once again give you the opportunity to go behind the scenes of Normandy’s renowned breeding industry and meet some of the stallions.
From there, we head to Clairefontaine Racecourse for our first afternoon of racing. Located just outside Deauville, Clairefontaine is a lovely racecourse with a relaxed atmosphere and always offers an enjoyable and competitive day’s racing.
Official racecourse admission is included, with hospitality upgrades available. Following racing, we will transfer back to the hotel for an evening at leisure.
Following an early breakfast, we head to Deauville Racecourse to watch some of the horses going through their morning work on the track, followed by a meet and greet with one of Deauville’s local trainers.
The rest of the day is then yours to explore Deauville at your own pace. Our hotel is perfectly located, with the town centre just a five minute walk away and the beach directly across the road.
There is plenty to enjoy, from Deauville’s shops, cafés and restaurants to the beach or a short walk across to the famous Trouville Fish Market.
There is also racing at Deauville today, with the racecourse around a 15 minute walk from the hotel for anyone wanting an extra afternoon at the races.
After breakfast, it is time for the highlight of our weekend as we make the short walk to Deauville Racecourse for one of the biggest days of its summer meeting.
The Group 1 Prix Morny takes centre stage, bringing together some of Europe’s leading two year olds for a fantastic afternoon of top class racing. It is always a brilliant day with a fantastic summer atmosphere.
Official race day admission is included, with hospitality upgrades also available.
Following racing, the evening is yours to enjoy one final night in Deauville.
After breakfast, we check out of the hotel, but there is still time for one final taste of Normandy before heading home.
We will visit a traditional Calvados and cider producer for a tour, where we will learn more about two of Normandy’s most famous local products. There will also be the opportunity for tastings, followed by a light lunch.
Following our visit, we transfer back to Caen for our 16.30 hrs ferry to Portsmouth, bringing our Deauville racing weekend to a close.
