When is the next Ashes series? When will England next play Australia? What are The Ashes 2021 dates? These are the burning questions on every England cricket fan’s lips after an incredible Summer 2019 that saw two titans of cricket emerge in Ben Stokes and Steve Smith, with Australia claiming the urn for the first time in England since 2001.

As England prepare for their four-Test series in South Africa, the cricket world will eagerly watch on to see if Joe Root’s side can turn a corner after a disappointing recent test record as they build towards The Ashes.

Venatour will be joining Root & co down under when England next play Australia for a tour full of celebrity guests, incredible sightseeing, and some of the greatest cricket you’ll see.

As well as being one of cricket’s finest traditions, England v Australia is unparalleled for action, drama and the most gripping storylines.

When is the next Ashes series?

The next Ashes series will take place at the home of the reigning-champions, Australia.

The five-Test Match tour will begin in November 2021 and end in January 2022.

Traditionally, England have toured the Gabba, Adelaide Oval, the WACA Ground, the Melbourne Cricket Ground and the Sydney Cricket Ground. We expect these venues to remain near enough the same in 2021/22.

The famous Boxing Day Test always takes place at the MCG and will be a huge spectacle for visiting England cricket fans.

What happened in the 2017/18 Ashes series?

A lot!

Australia won the series 4-0 as they romped to victory led by Steve Smith.

England were without talisman all-rounder Ben Stokes as he was summoned for a disciplinary process after an altercation at a Bristol nightclub.

However the series was overshadowed by the infamous ball-tampering sandpaper scandal as mere months after they defeated England, Australia were found guilty of ball-tampering with Steve Smith and David Warner ringleading the scandal, ably assisted by Cameron Bancroft. The world of cricket has rightfully forgiven and forgotten about the scandal, but some fans still took the opportunity to slate their Australian counterparts this summer…!

Who will be playing for England in the Ashes?

It is very difficult to say at this early stage, but Ben Stokes must be one of the only names cemented in the team sheet alongside skipper Joe Root.

This could be legendary bowler Jimmy Anderson’s final series and may even use this stage to bow out. Questions were asked about Stuart Broad before the last Ashes, but his performances silenced the critics.

With new stars Jofra Archer and Rory Burns impressing in 2019, they’re almost certain to be on the plane to Australia.

The rest of the squad is very hard to predict, and South Africa 2019/20 will be a great gauge of how Mark Silverwood’s squad is shaping up.
