It has the added bonus of having pretty good weather and plenty of beaches to keep you occupied when not playing, training or visiting an old village or port. Works well for October and February half-term tours from the UK and hockey can be played well into the summer months. Hockey festivals and rugby festivals are popular and are a great way to celebrate the end of a successful season!

An excellent standard of hockey for girls and boys can be found and astro turf pitches are widely available. World class training facilities are close to main attractions with short transfer times.

One of the few countries never to have been at war with the UK, and famous for its early explorers that set out to find the new world on their sailing ships!
There are plenty of options close by – fishing trips, paint balling, the Oceanarium, strolling through markets or a tour of the city of Porto – famous for its production of Port!
There are some great places that are built alongside fantastic state of the art sports facilities so you can step right out onto the pitch from your room! Once the sport is done why not relocate closer to the beach before returning home!
