The island that has it all

Barbados arguably has the most going for it and plenty of flights make it an accessible destination. There is a wide range of hotels, great nightlife, plenty of beaches and most of all a good standard of sport.

Another advantage is that it is easily combined with other islands making a two or three-centre tour a reality!

SPORTS & SEASONS

Netball

Jan–Dec

Mostly played at the National Netball Stadium – you can be sure of excellent opposition and the girls play touring sides all year round. Outdoors or indoors the local girls love to play overseas tourists.

Hockey

Jan–Dec

The University’s mini sand-based AstroTurf is approximately equivalent to half the size of an international turf, perfect for 7-a-side hockey and hockey 5s.

Cricket

Jan–Dec

World renown for cricket and you are never far away from a pitch! Plenty of teams so matching standards is always possible, and transfer times generally very short. A thriving youth set up also means it is a great venue for prep schools

CULTURE

Plenty of history to discover how the island became what it is today, although the main attraction is of course a combination of the friendly welcome, fine beaches and the fabulous weather.

Activities

On days in between fixtures you can choose from a plethora of activities. An excursion to Oistins is great for a night out at the local market and a wander around the street stalls. During the day a trip out on the Jolly Roger is not to be missed, or if you prefer your water sports land based, try the Boatyard Beach Party. To give you a feel for the island a 4×4 tour is a great way for your group to explore and have fun.

Accommodation

With Barbados being such a great tourist destination, there is a good range of affordable accommodation. Our feeling is that you should always try and stay on the beach when on an island and prices should not affect that possibility.
