Ian Robertson
Venatour Ambassador
Often dubbed ‘The Voice of Rugby’, legendary rugby union commentator Ian Robertson enjoyed a playing and broadcasting career that spanned over 50 years.
The former Scotland fly-half made his international debut against England in 1968 before injury forced him into early retirement aged just 26. However, a career with the BBC shortly ensued and Robertson never looked back.
Robertson became the BBC’s official rugby union correspondent in 1983 and won two gold awards at the Radio Academy Awards, including Speech Broadcaster of the Year in 2004.
